Apxpress is a market leader in design, manufacture and distribution of custom made packaging, labels and buttons .
Apxpress have recently opened a new office in Tunisia. The staff in Tunisia required direct access to the servers based in the London office so they could access all Apxpress company resources and use a special database application called Dimensions. The objective was to create a secure site to site connection between Tunisia and London allowing remote users to work seamlessly on the Apxpress network.
As security was paramount to this project, Our IT Department recommended the installation of two new hardware firewalls at each office location that have the ability to maintain a stable, secure site to site connection over long distances. We recommended Watchguard hardware for both sites as they are professional firewalls designed specifically for business use. A secure VPN tunnel will be configured so that a direct connection is made between the two sites allowing the users in Tunisia to access resources on the server. The firewalls will also be configured so that the users will be able to use the Dimensions database remotely via the Terminal server based in the London office.
Our IT Department engineers attended both the London and Tunisia office in order to complete this project.
Watchguard Firewalls were installed and configured in both locations and a secure VPN tunnel was created linking both offices together. Selected user accounts in Tunisia were then configured to access both the resources on the London server and the dimensions database via remote desktop connection. Shortcuts were created for company drives and remote desktop connections for all user accounts were put through a rigorous testing process before the project was signed off. Both firewalls are fully managed by Our IT Department.
This was another project completed successfully and on time by Our IT Department. The Apxpress users in the Tunisia office now have a permanent connection to the London network, allowing them access to the Dimensions database and resources on the server.
