A new smartphone app has been developed to help people with disabilities travel around the capital. The app has been developed by a gentleman named Daniel Biddle, who was a survivor of the London bombing attack that occurred back in July 2005.
The app provides details of easy access and disabled facilities across London. Daniel developed the app after he realised how difficult it was for a to find such facilities in the Capital. The app includes a range of disabled friendly venues which include public houses, hotels, restaurants and theatres.
How does it work?
The app uses GPS technology to define where the user is in the Capital and where the nearest facilities can be located. Categories can be broken down into subcategories (restaurants /type of restaurant etc.) The user friendly interface makes it easy to find the nearest disabled friendly locations. This app even has a section dedicated to the Olympic Games, with information relating to each venue.
Another nice feature is the fact that this app can be used without internet access, allowing you to look up the nearest facilities while traveling on the undergound.
