Here is some breaking news that got our IT Support engineers very excited!!
Samsung have realised their very first tablet computer, the Galaxy Tab at the IFA conference in Berlin, Germany. The Galaxy Tab is seen as one of the first true competitors to the Apple iPad.
Galaxy Tag Specifications.
The Galaxy tab will be using Google’s very own Android operating system. Similar to the iPad, 16 and 32 Gb versions are expected to be available which will be expandable by up to 32 Gb more.
The device will be using Google’s ‘Android’ Operating system. It has a 7 inch screen and weighs in at just 380 grams making it a smaller and lighter alternative to its apple rival. The device will also support flash video.
As of yet, no UK price has been announced.
Connectivity.
Again like the iPad, the Galaxy Tab will use 3G, Bluetooth and wireless connectivity. Vodafone are the first network provider to announce that it will be distributing the product across Europe with other vendors expected to follow.
Samsung’s head of mobile communications, JK shin stated "Samsung recognises the tremendous growth potential in this newly-created market and we believe that the Samsung Galaxy Tab brings a unique and open proposition to market,".
The above news is fantastic news for people who have been crying out for a non-apple alternative to the iPad. Our Support engineers have already started to drop hints about ‘ how good the galaxy tab would be out on the field’ and I can already sense a few pre orders coming the way of our procurement department!!
